Reunion March 28-April 1 approved for TFH Instructor/practitioner Update
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TFHK Instructors and Practitioners can meet their update Kinesiology requirements by attending the 5 day reunion and training program in Malibu March 28 to April 1, 2005 (30 contact hours). The program will be emphasizing the ease of records keeping, reporting of outcomes and follow-up.
It will also be presenting some new techniques developed by John and Matthew Thie. There will be training in the effective use of the eTFH computer program. This eTouch will be used for a database on the Internet. Sign up today.
Antibiotics and Breast Cancer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A study from the University of Washington in Seattle suggests a link between breast cancer and antibiotic use. Researchers looked at the histories of 10,219 women belonging to a group health plan, and found that those who had 25 or more prescriptions for antibiotics, or those who had taken them for more than 500 days, had twice the risk of breast cancer than those who had taken no antibiotics. This study reported in Journal of the American Medical Association, February 18, 2004.

The study spanned 17 years. The breast cancer link appeared to be somewhat proportional to how often antibiotics were used, as those who had taken them less often still showed an increased, but slightly lessened, chance of the cancer. This study supports results seen in an earlier Finnish study of a similar number of women.

The need for antibiotics is again questioned and showing that it may be doing more harm than good in a long run. From my personal experience the real need for using antibiotics is greatly exaggerated. I personally have handled all my lifetime infections without their use. This was easy for me, as my father didn't allow our family to use them and used natural remedies with us so I learned alternatives. His main alternative was to slow us down when he saw we overdoing and keeping us on a good wholesome food style.

We were following the present recommendations for good nutrition 50 years before they became the official standard of 6-11 serving of fruits and vegetables daily. I currently us vitamin C and A in high dosages along with iodine (Iosol from TPCS distributors a free iodine and ammonium iodide) at the first signs of a possible bacterial or viral infection. You can see the great benefits of fruits and vegetables when you use nutrition for balancing. Do an assessment balance and use the recommended fruit or vegetable and see how it brings all the energy meridians back into balance based on evaluation of the previous muscle inhibitions.

Partnership for Essential Nutrition
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new group, called the Partnership for Essential Nutrition has been formed to help educate Americans about the need for healthy carbohydrates such as vegetables, fruits, beans and whole grains. "When unproven science becomes a sales pitch, some people get rich and the rest of us get ripped off," Jeffrey Prince of the American Institute for Cancer Research told a news conference.
"Eating vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans, which are all predominantly carbohydrate, is linked to a reduced risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and a range of other chronic diseases."
This and the previous article again shows that eating the right thing help the whole person. It is hard for us to recognize that although naming diseases, syndromes, etc. is helpful shorthand for the treatment with specific prescriptions for named condition. In a long run we need to think about ourselves as whole persons and feeding the whole person a natural food style may prove to be of the most benefit. As we are all living longer, let us plan on eating those things that bring our energy up and avoid those refined and manufactured things that give short term results but long term bad effects.
Test the foods and see which ones specifically turn on your energy, which ones are neutral and which ones turn off your energy based on muscle testing responses. Eat only those that turn on or are neutral when you have something important to do.
Carbs Needed After a Workout
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The American Council on Exercise is warning athletes to be wary of restricting carbohydrates too much, especially after a physical workout. Since the energy for muscle cells is stored as glycogen (a carbohydrate), it seems logical that having a carbohydrate meal post- workout is the quickest way to replenish those reserves.

Insufficient replenishment, the council says, can result in possible muscle breakdown, or at least undue fatigue during your next workout. Experts suggest that the most beneficial time to eat after a workout is 30-60 minutes later. This from Brian Sutton, DC, column in Dynamic Chiropractic from Associated Press, March 28, 2004

Over the years we have had many TFH Instructor/ Practitioners give anecdotal reports of faster recover after athletic events when they have balanced the participant before and immediately after a grueling contest.

One athlete in the Hawaii Iron, which is one of the most grueling events in the world was amazed when he used TFH balances. He said that he usually had to go to bed immediately after the event. This year he used TFH balances before and immediately after and instead of going to bed he went dancing to celebrate his best time ever. Eating properly and getting energy balances with TFH can benefit greatly.
